While I agree that this is hardly the forum for such warnings, I can
think of a more tactful reply. Every little bit in the struggle helps
in my eyes, thanks Scott.
John

Subject: Re: [pmfirewall] Fw: CAUTION PLEASE
Scott, please do not propagate wetware viruses. A wetware virus is an
unconfirmed rumor of a virus. Often the virus warned against does not
exist.
I don't know who M. Stewart is, but I assume he is some sort of IT
person
at Post Canada. He may or may not know anything about viruses, but I
don't
see anything on here authoritative.
Please before you propagate a virus warning check to see if it is a
real
virus with one or more authoritative virus sources, such as MacAfee or
Data Fellows, and refer with a URL to their writeups in your email.
Also, please consider that a lot of the people on this list
(pmfirewall@pointman.org) are sys admins themselves, and have their own
ways of dealing with viruses which may make your warning redundant.
And, please do the single most effective thing a user (non-sys-admin)
can
do to stop email viruses: Please stop using Outlook or its relatives.
Thank you.
