You can recompile the kernel to allow it to support ipchains, though (I
could be wrong, but I don't think it's supported by the "stock" kernel).

A version of PMFirewall that supports iptables will be available soon, I
hope though.. Until then, I'm happy using kernel 2.2.18 and ipchains; it's
served me well up to this point :-)
