Hello list,

I'm in a bit of a quandary. I can't get my email unless I turn off
pmfirewall.

When I shut it down, it gives me an error saying it can't find <insert
appropriate $OUTERIF value here>.

Maybe I'm just overlooking something obvious, but I cannot figure out
what $OUTERIF should be pointing to! In my pmfirewall.conf file, I have
had it pointing to pppd, ppp0, /dev/modem, /dev/ttyS2, and ppp. All of
these give the same error message, 'device not found'.

My ppp/pop3 connection is though an internal modem (not a winmodem)
located on /dev/ttyS2, but my ISP dialer points to the link /dev/modem
(which points back to /dev/ttyS2). The ISP dialer uses pppd.

I've been through the PMfirewall docs and all of the system docs I can
find, none seem to tell me what the anme of the interface $OUTERIF wants
to be pointing at.

Thanks in advance for any advice you have!

Jay DeKing
